Hopefully this is the right forum area to ask.
Basically I bought an "unissued" Polish gas mask for a Halloween costume. It has the canister style air filter dated 1/77/2. So I assume it was made in 77. Question is the air filter safe to breath in?

Thanks for the help.

If it was in new/unused condition the filter shouldn't contain any contaminants. Most gas mask filters contain a type of activated charcoal/carbon to block chemical agents. Being Polish it might have the flavor of garlic sausage though.;)

Gas masks restrict your vision and are uncomfortable to wear for an extended period, so I'd pay extra attention when crossing the road.

Last year Justin Trudeau went Halloweening dressed like some Star Wars character carrying a plastic gun. Maybe we should chip in and buy him a Polish gas mask before he hits it with his carbon tax. Chances are he wouldn't wear it though because it would mask his great beauty.:)
