After 40-50rds, gas plug comes loose.Tightened with proper tool as tight as I can with hand strength, What to do?

havent this happen to me yet but i've gathered some info...
people use either: blue loctite, nail polish or teflon tape

I just tighten it up real good

Are you sure you are tightening it enough? Do you have a gas lock wrench to hold the rifle barrel while you tighten the plug? I use the gas lock wrench and the plug wrench on the multitool, then index the wrench until the two handles are 15-20 degrees apart, and give it a good squeeze with one hand (probably 75 lbs squeeze I'd guess). Used to come loose, never does now.

Gas plug coming loose? Yer #### will fall... nah, I'm just joking. :nest:

Seriously, I used to carry that USGI Combo tool in the top pocket of my NRA shooting jacket and just before (my routine) the command was given, "Is the line ready?" That was my signal to pull out the combo tool, and give the gas plug a good crank (single hand tight) just to ensure that during my slowfire or rapid fire string, no surprises would occur.

Just get used to it. Keep that combo tool handy!

My 2 (after tax) cents worth!
