I'm not a lever gun fan at all, but I like a few of them. The 1895, the Mdl71, and I've ben a fan of the 1894 "trapper" model since a buddy of mine showed up at my house one day with one in 44 Magnum, and we spent a few hours shooting stuff in my back yard.
Yesterday I bought one form a CGN member, along with a bunch of loaded ammo and bullets.
I stopped at the range on the way home to take it for a test drive! Wow, just as much fun as I remembered!
No surprise that I think I need to change the sights out though...I did fine on white paper targets but couldn't even see the front blade when on darker objects. I've never really liked the traditional "buckhorn" sights on many lever rifles, though...
