I have a few safe queens (nothing super fancy, but queens to me) that I keep stored in silicone gunstocks and haven't looked at for over a year.
So I decided to give them a wipe down, oil the bores etc and the first bore the patch came out RED. I have a dehumidifier in the room, I knew I oiled the bores and stored them in gunsocks, so how the hell were the bores rusty?
Well after a bit of sweating trying to figure out what I did wrong, I remembered I had coated the bores with a red grease that I use for lube on the semi's. Lucas red n tacky or whatever it's called.
This time I coated them with clear synthetic grease because I'm sure I'll be twice as forgetful next time I look at them...

My gun room stays at a constant temp of 21 degrees C year round, have never had a rusting problem. :)

Gun Room has a dehumidifer, Safes electric heating rods, relative humidity stays constant around 50%.

Not really sure as i haven't checked for humidity but the heat is electric baseboard and I think this tends to produce a dry heat.

I've found quite the opposite with electric baseboard. The room humidity doesn't change as there is no movement of air other than through convection.
Dehumidifier is a necessity.
