Hey fellas, I'm wondering if anyone on CGN has the "Hook up" for some Mule Deer Hunts, some kind of 'Semi DIY' where I guess I may be able to get in on some Discounted hunt (cgn international discount I heard somewhere :D ) anyway, I am keen as to Hunt Mule Deer, Is anyone Willing to discuss in PM some kind of Host hunt setup?

Thanks heaps!!

Git ahold awf Angus........aka............Arrrrrrrrrdint.
He should know awll the chit 'bout this'ear in B.C.
Its all hiding in the synopsis.

In BC out-of-country hunters must use a professional guide.
Not so,

For BC's accompany to hunt permit,

"Applicants may accompany either or both:

A non-resident - a person who is not a resident of British Columbia but who
is a Canadian Citizen, a permanent resident of Canada; or,
Has his/her sole or permanent residence in Canada and has resided in Canada for the 12 month period immediately prior to the date of this application.
A non-resident alien (a person who is neither a resident nor a non-resident) whose relationship to the applicant falls within the following categories:

Father Mother Spouse
Brother Sister Father-in-law
Son Daughter Mother-in-law
Uncle Aunt Son-in-law
Nephew Niece Daughter-in-law
Grandson Granddaughter Brother-in-law
Grandfather Grandmother Sister-in-law

Note: "COUSIN" is not an accepted relationship"

Well from my searches theres a few Elk options down in Merica with Mules, and Alberta may have some OTC non resident tags, was just hoping that someone on here was knowinz what I was sayinz and had some connections.

Theres a few grey areas for the Hunter Host, or guys with Hunter host licenses? that can ditch 1-2 tags for a Non Resident with certain terms and obviously in OFF PEAK seasons...
ive read Colorado an such offer good post Rut elk hunting, an mule. Utah an such.

Tags are looking like $500-$900 including a $1000 Deer and Elk combo in montana perhaps.

plus $1500 to fly over an back maybe.... I'm in LOL

Have spoken to WildCoast about Sheeps, but thems horns aint bigs Enuff looky! :D

What area you looking to hunt? My neck of the woods Muley's are plentiful and I bumped into a couple 5 pts while hiking last weekend. Can't imagine paying a guide to hunt a muley in BC unless you are only after a trophy.

If you come to Southern Alberta we will have to meet up for a chat if I'm not working.

Considering moving to WA and would love to pick your brain...

Not sure if they are a good outfitter; but Anchor D High Mountain Hunts does elk/mule combos and is located in a very nice area. 8000 USD for 10 days though

WL, here is a little perspective on hunts here in BC for foreigners.
A US Radio station is promoting a Gunshop/outdoors store in the Pacific NorthWest of Wash. St.
The trip is for a guided Black Bear here in BC and valued at $7500.00 US.
I know for a buddy on Northern Vancouver Island in the Nimpkish Valey several years ago the guide wanted $20,000 US and my buddy had the tag.
So, the numbers you mentioned for the hunt appear reasonable , even with your airfare considerations.
Keep us Posted on your findings.

He's Australian. He needs a guide.

Being a Non-Resident Alien, you would need to go thru an Outfitter in Alberta.

Up in the Peace River region of NW Alberta would have some good mulies.

Or a hunter host.

"A Hunter Host

Must be an adult resident, and be eligible to hold recreational hunting licences.
Must be the holder of a valid WIN and Hunter Host Licence (below).
may not provide services for gain or reward, or accept remuneration, directly or indirectly, for such services.
may host a maximum of two (2) hunters/year, either Non-residents (Canadian), Non-resident Aliens or a combination thereof. If hosting 2 Non-resident Aliens, at least 1 must be a relative.
may host Non-resident Aliens only if the host has not hosted a Non-resident Alien in the previous two (2) fiscal years (April 1 to March 31).
must report to the Fish and Wildlife office by December 31 in the year of harvest all hunting activities by the Non-resident Aliens he or she hosted. A report must be submitted even if the hunter doesn’t harvest an animal.
must accompany the hunter(s) named on his or her Hunter Host Licence while they are hunting big game under the authority of the Hunter Host Licence.
Hunter Host Licence
A resident who wishes to be a Hunter Host may purchase a Hunter Host Licence online at albertarelm.com or at any licence issuer. You must have the WIN(s) of the non-resident(s) at the time of purchase. You must ensure that the hunters you host are named on your Hunter Host Licence. If you purchase your Hunter Host licence naming one hunter and you decide to add a second hunter to your licence at a later date, you can do so at no additional charge. Return to albertarelm.com or to a licence issuer to have your licence amended. Once you have purchased your Hunter Host Licence, the hunters may purchase their licences.

A Hunter Host who plans to take a non-resident alien hunting must do the following:

Go to a Fish and Wildlife office in person and initiate an application (including statutory declaration). Sign it and have your signature sworn. If your Non-resident Alien is not a relative, you must start this process by August 31 or February 28 as described above.
Have the Non-resident Alien sign the application and have his or her signature sworn. If the Non-resident Alien does not have a WIN, have him or her fill out a WIN application at the same time.
Take the completed application to a Fish and Wildlife office. The application will be reviewed for final approval and keyed into the automated licensing system.
When you are notified that your application is approved, go online at albertarelm.com or to any licence issuer and purchase your Hunter Host Licence (see above) and the appropriate Wildlife Certificate and licences"

"NON-RESIDENT ALIEN LICENCE COSTS AND COMBINATIONS

NOTE: The 5% federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) is not included in the costs listed below.

Prior to purchasing any licence, each hunter must possess a valid WIN (scroll up for more information regarding the WIN - Wildlife Identification Number) and a Non-Resident Alien Wildlife Certificate, which costs $68.22. Hunters wishing to hunt with a bow and arrow must also purchase a Bowhunting Permit (not required for hunting with a cross-bow).

Licence Price ($)
Antlered Mule Deer Special Licence 203.84
Bowhunting Permit (not required for cross-bows) 23.20
WIN Renewal 8.00
Licence Reprint 2.00"
