Hi All,
I need some help. I was watching Wild TV the other night and I saw one of the Helgie and Ryans "The Gear Hunters" segments. It was for a new Canadian made deer attractant/mineral lick that I want to buy but I can't remember the name. You put it in a bucket up a cut off tree. I can't find an ad for in anywhere on the WildTV website. Has anyone else seen this segment and can you remember the name.

I think I know what it is you are looking for because I have one installed.
You can get the "mineral fountain" from Steve Elmy at w ww.rackstacker.ca

ht tp://rackstacker.ca/mineral-fountain

The product is awesome, we set two of them up last year, and had 4 deer standing under one licking the tree within 4 hours. ( we have a game cam )

IE doesn't seem to work well with the site, but firefox does.
I am going to email him and let him know.

Awesome, I knew it was rack something but I guess I'm getting old and I couldn't remember the rest. Thanks Dave.
PS watch the hot linking, seperate the ht tp so it doesn't link.

Ordered a Glory one. I will set up a game cam on it when I get it up and going. I have a perfect spot 100 yds above the house. If it works then one closer next year. I hope muleys like it also.

Be careful when you open it !....do it outside and stay upwind. I opened mine with a breeze to my face, wow is that stuff strong.

Before taking it to the field I opened the carton at home and you could even smell the powder still in the bag !

It works well, make sure that the tree you are using has a base big enough after you cut it to fit the bottom of the plastic bucket. Mine ended up being too small, so I tied some thin rope around it and stapled it down to the tree to give the "drip" somewhere to wick towards the tree. Other wise the little holes on the side would have just dripped to the ground. I also used a small drillbit and drilled two little holes in the bottom after it was attached right next to where the tree sat against the bottom of the bucket, so that it would drip down the tree like it is supposed to.

Don't drill too many holes or it will drip too fast and you will have nothing left in it pretty fast
Mine lasted all season, and I bet there is still some in it now. It all depends on rainfall, if you don't get any rain fall , you could always put a cup of water in it I guess. Little by little though.

Good luck, post picks if you catch game at it.

Thanks Dave,
I have lots of trees to pick from so I should be able to find the perfect one. I am a little worried about moisture as this is the Okanagan and very warm and dry but we shall see. I'm really hoping it works.
