If you are going out hunting for the day, what to you take with you in your hunting pack?
This is for a day trip.
 
Lunch and snacks, 6X6 plastic ground sheet, Compass, 2nd compass, 4 Gatorade, Cellphone, 2way radio, knife, matches, first aid kit, 20 feet of light nylon rope, flashlight and Toilet Paper.

lol , As soon as I got hunting i throw on my hunting pack wich has 2 days worth of survival gear inside,And comes in slightly over 2pnds Full.

I stuff all this stuff into a Large zip lock bag then straight into the Pack(zip Lock great for water as well) , Im comftorable for a 2 night trip into the bush If I had to. It's Better to have the gear and not need , the need it and not have it.

And I wear an old Tshirt. (shirt+knife=TP)
 
For day trips I use either an Arcteryx 40 litre climbing pack, or an old 35L Jansport that I love. And for overnighters and sheep hunting trips, or trips were I might have to pack out meat, I use a Large Dana designs external frame pack.
 
Phanny Pack

Over the winter I started making a day pack. I started throwing stuff into a fanny pack that my daughter gave me as a gift. When I got to 200 usable items the name was changed to Phanny Pack. In case I missed something this is what I have.

The entire pack weighs in at 6 1/4 lbs if the belt accessories are removed the fanny pack by itself weighs 3 3/4 lbs. I would like to lighten it a little. Water, knives, compass, snacks, etc. are not shown as I never leave home without them.

It is an ongoing project so any ideas would be appreciated.
