I have never hunted geese before, and a friend of mine really wants to go hunt some. Neith of us have expereince with hunting them, but we have hunted deer. We have a place to go hunt them, but dont know the ways about doing it legally. Where can you get tags, if needed, and what restrictions are there?
Any info will help, thanks!

In AB you need your Wildlife Certificate, Game Bird license, and Migratory Game Bird Permit.

You are only allowed to hunt with non-toxic shot (no lead). I would suggest steel BBs.

Daily and possession limits are listed in the regulations. Generally you are allowed 8 geese per day (Canada), off the top of my head I think you may only allowed 5 speckle bellies (White Fronted), but 8 geese total.

Snow geese are a whole different story. IIRC you are allowed 20 snows per day.

To add, you cannot use a rifle of any sort, or a crossbow. Shotguns with shot only, or bow and arrow.

Your WIN is only a number. Still need your wildlife certificate. Licenses are sold where hunting licenses are sold. Are you sure you have legally hunted in AB before?
