I have a Gehmann D75 rear sight mounted on a Gew. 96/11 that has seized up. It is mounted on an Anschütz sight base. This is an older setup, I am guessing from the 1980s. The Anschütz sight base does not have a model number that I can see on it.

I am looking for info on how to repair or a modern replacement for it. I have another D75 on my K31 but the screw thread is a smaller diameter than the thread on the iris mounted on the 96/11, so there are at least two models/types of the D75 out there.

If it's in anschutz rear site it should be M9.5x1. Most modern rear iris's would fit. I use a gehmann 510 in my TR rifle but I like to keep it simple.

I was looking at the 510, seems to be a straightforward replacement. I am not looking to run colour filters or anything, as I like to keep it simple as well. I was just thrown off by the two sizes of threads for the same model of sight.

The D75 on the K31 is mounted to a WF sight base.

Anschutz Standard iris screw size is 9.5mm x 1.0mm pitch, Model 510.
W&F is 5.5mm x 0.5mm, Model 511
Then there is Parker Hale/Redfield thread size of 7/32-40, PH510
and also Sauer Busk thread, SB510.
Model # are Gehmann.

There are adaptor bushings available to go from the small thread to the standard 9.5mm thread. Try Champions Choice, or Champions shooter supply in the US.

You most likely have an Anschütz 6702 rear sight. Does it have a lever attached to a knob?

I suggest flushing the iris with lab grade iso-butyl alcohol, if you can find it. Maybe dried oil or grease is the problem.
Check electronic stores.

Tried one on my Sportco Omark 44. Ungainly long, decrease light and adds some wobble between the PH sized Central rear sight and my Gehmann 568MC iris.
Mind you the 568 is long by itself.

Got mine from Jocelyn at Cible Canada.

Thanks for the tips. I ended up just ordering a 510 from Cible which has worked well. I kept the old D75. I'll try the flush with iso-butyl alcohol to see if I can get it working again.

I do have the 6720, and it had the lever but I took it off and put it aside.
