I am not sure if I completely understand your question. The SMR requires a low profile gas block, so the rail cannot be installed with the factory front sight intact. You can cut down your stock FSB, which in theory could be done without removing it. I don't know if that answers your question? If you want to remove and keep your FSB, we have GA Super Gas Blocks in stock.
