Frankly, I think Bill has diluted the Geissele brand recognition with all the absurd “super” branded items they’ve unveiled over the pst few years. Their rails and triggers are absolutely top notch, but I get the impression Bills trying his hardest to squeeze every nickel out of his name. The super Gucci optic mounts were where I first started questioning their value. Sure they’re great mounts but at twice the price of an ADM (ones I’ve never had issues with) am I really seeing any returns? Especially considering you’re in SPUHR country now.
Then it went on to all these random parts like, as you’ve noticed, LPK’s, trigger guards, safety kits etc. like what am I getting that’s any better then the average run of the mill stuff? Add in parts like the super duper 42 buffer kit that solves a problem no real shooter has ever had, a very hokey knife company and a “nanotech” coating company I still haven’t seen do anything in the industry, it just leaves me wondering wtf are you doing Bill? There was a time I looked at the Geissele brand and got the feeling that this was a quality brand that makes great triggers, amazing rails (atleast for the MK8 & MK4’s as I’ve heard the MK14-16’s are trash now) and other quality components but now with this extreme diversification it just comes off as “dollar store-ish” if that makes any sense.
Not to mention, with the ridiculous unveiling of yet another stupid coffee line, it just adds to the feeling. I’ve never been one to pay for a brand just because it’s a brand. If the quality isn’t there, or the extra cost doesn’t come with any measureable benefits I wont pay for it, and that’s exactly where I see Geissele now. Outside of their triggers, charging handles and mk4/MK8 rails I see nothing of value in the company anymore.
The only thing I’ll disagree with you on is that Geissele just slaps their name on milspec components or other manufacturers components. That is 100% what Noveske is now.
*patiently waits for the G boy and Noveske fanboys to proclaim their offendedness*
