Gen 1 vs Gen 2 Tavor?

We need more proof of this claim. Has anyone ever tried and fired 5.56 rounds on their Tavor?

Yes.

I remember from a picture showing a US Tavor barrel during the SHOT show the section of the barrel that clamped by the receiver is different from our version.

Great that's awesome! First time I've seen an actual confirmation with a photo proof of it. How does 5.56 rounds compare to .223 on Tavor? (recoil, accuracy, operation)
Which caliber do you prefer best? Where can we get civilian version of 5.56 rounds?

Tell me you're joking. Wtf?

I believe the gen 1.5 info is slightly incorrect.

The gen 1.5 was a $300 upgrade available for the last two Can-Am batches of Tavors. It included a factory installed pic rail with flip up buis (kind of crappy but better than nothing). The rail was the perfect height for scopes, sights etc using common AR mounts. The upgrade also included a M21 sight with quick release and bullseye reticle (Eotec copy).

This is actually my favourite version of the Tavor and there aren't many around due to only being available the last two Can am shipments and the extra $300 price tag. Also a lot of people prefer the Eotec over the M21.

As mentioned a lot of people bought aftermarket rails. In some cases the height wasn't perfect and you still paid for the M21 which now needed another base to be usefull. As there was a lot of negative thoughts on the M21 the way was paved for a less expensive optics not included Tavor.

The M21 with the gen 1.5 had the better reticle with the 65 moa circle and 1 moa dot. Also the quick release was a huge improvement over both the standard proprietey mount and the pic mount. The main issue was the reticle washing out when shooting from dark to light. The tritium power source works well at night and in brightness the optic is very easy to see. But the tritium isn't strong enough for dark looking into bright. That being said there are no buttons or batteries and it works well on firearms where the side charging handle can be an issue when using an Eotec.

Was thee so called version 1.5 came with a spring on the firing pin to prevent slam fire while 1.0 was not? As well as Epoxy7 mention there was some change In the reticle came was a smaller dot on the M21 on 1.5.
So IIRC the first batch did not come with spring firing pin and a bigger reticle

2nd shipment came with a spring o firing pin and a smaller reticle.
3rd shipment came with a pic rail option with a quick detachable m21 $300 more
There after come the existing version which also with different trigger (compare anx you will feel it)
