Gen 2 WK180C upper on a Gen 1?

Hey, I apparently bought the last one from TNA, as when I placed the order it disappeared from their site.

The upper is the new Gen 2 style, my Gen 1 has some significant wear from the charging handle scraping against the receiver.

Is it crazy difficult to swap this part out, or just disassemble and hope for the best?

I called Kodiak, they're local anyway.

He said it's a straight one for one swap, easy enough, I'll post some pics after.

I like the Gen 2 receiver much more, little more solid.

OK easy.

Need metric and standard allen keys.

Bench vice with soft jaws and cardboard

Big adjustable wrench with thin jaws.

One cold beer.

Had it apart and replaced within 30 minutes, it feels alot smoother than the Gen 1, little more solid.

Be careful removing the cotter pin from the bolt, the firing pin shoots out of there, make sure you've got your safety squints on.

Also, it gave me a chance to clean and oil the gas tube, and piston, mine was pretty seized in there.
