Hi glock enthusiasts,
So I have a well used (decently maintained) gen 3 glock 21 SF that is having an annoying but minor problem. Every so often the trigger safety gets momentarily stuck when pulling the trigger. Basically you need to put a bunch of extra pressure on it for a split second to force it into position before continuing with your trigger pull. Again this is only happening once and a while and it only happens on initial trigger pull, not on the reset. It started happening a couple months ago and I have yet to figure out the issue. My current trouble shooting steps are noted below.
-Detailed cleaning and lubing of all parts. Full detailed strip and clean.
-having other shooters fire it and encounter the same issue.
-testing to ensure the safety is still working (IE cannot fire without engaging the trigger safety).
-replicating the problem with the glock partially disassembled. Was not able to notice anything visually.
-tried a different slide and had the same issue.
Any ideas as to what might be the issue? Next steps I should take? For the record this issue has not caused any failures in the firing of the gun. It is basically just annoying the heck out of me. It does throw off my first shot a bit, as I need to apply way more pressure to the trigger than I should. I would say this glock has about 8000 rounds through it. The trigger group was replaced as well as night sights installed 6 years ago at Police Ordnance. I haven't changed any of the internals since then.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas.
