Went out to Genesee this morning, not to bad out. Working on tuning some loads for my .338LAI.....

Was just getting going, shot a 3" 5 shot group at 600m.... Pretty happy with that. Then the MIRAGE hit..... And then the humbling began.....Can I read mirage... HELL NO.... Cause I was all over..... Trying to shoot at 800, the mirage was terrible. Never shoot on a boil, look at it boil.....Look at the wierd wind gusts, Very humbling....

Went to shoot some test loads at 100m with my .204.... Well, I have never seen such willful damage. You could only fit 3 targets on the hole range as the target board was DESTROYED.......3 pieces of plywood standing, with MASSIVE HOLES in it. The posts holding it up were shot and then people kicked them down.

The full metal jacket shooting folk have shot the posts, and well, you know where this is going....

And people complain there is no place to shoot anymore..... I wonder why????

:(

How was the plywood and 500-700 m ? Can a guy still hang some paper ?

I hope they get to fixing up the range. That membership was pretty expensive this year...

200-800m

plywood is a-ok.... the 100m is destroyed and I mean DESTROYED......

The rest is ok, though..... I'm gonna start using my Big Shooter bench at the range....Those benchs are not the greatest, but then again with the wilful damage, I dont blame them for not upgrading.

I was there last weekend with my son shooting pistol at the short range. Some a**holes apparently decided that shooting the horizontal target supports would be fun and most of the target boards are now screwed.

There is a range fix-up scheduled in May. Members should have got the email about it.

I spent a day putting up all new plywood on the 100m range a few years ago when I had more time to shoot. It is a shame that it happens.Randy was usually around to keep an eye on things,I think that was his name.Older gentleman with a bald head.He did a nice job of ringing gongs at 500 meters with his old remington 45-70

I am in the process of sourcing out some drill stem for new back stops for the range. there will be 12 new backstops for the pistol and 100 m rifle range. if anyone on here knows where to get a good supply of 2 7/8" stem pipe please pm me with the details. these will be built on the range clean up day so please come out and lend a hand .

What is the range setup like?

How does it work with close distance shooters, and long distance shooters in regards to checking / placing targets?

come out to the May 2nd clean up and help fix the range... as to the membership fee being too expensive....I say $80 bucks a year is a steal.

The sad fact is this..we have closing on 1100 members, and as per usual we have at the most 40 people ever show up for the clean up..do the math
