I am trying to find a map that clearly delineates Crown from Private Lands in New Brunswick. The best tool that has been consistently recommended to me is GeoNB from the SNB website. However, despite how many people tell me it is easy to use, I cannot seem to get it to work for me. I can go into a selection tool that lets me outline a portion of the province, and then click on the overlay that says Crown Lands, but I get an error. I then subsequently blundered around a bit more and found a Crown map download, but they are in .lpk, .shp or .fgdb, none of which I am able to view or find a viewer.

I would appreciate it if someone could give me a run-down on how to find an appropriate map, preferably for the whole province where I can selectively zoom in on specific areas of interest. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I use the GeoNB site a little bit.

When you choose GeoNB click the Map viewer just under the globe right in the center of the screen. This should open a Topo map of the entire province.

As you place your mouse over an area of interest and zoom in you will see distinct lighter colored parcels of crown land show up. You can also enable wetlands from the menu.

I think the only view that shows crown land is the topo..
