Hello,

I've got a beautiful 1883 German Reichsrevolver and it's got a broken hand spring and of course the cylinder won't rotate when the hammer is cocked unless you're pointing the muzzle down and then the hand engages the cylinder by gravity and doesn't need spring tension. I'm wondering where I could find somebody to fabricate a replacement hand spring? It's piece #14 on this french language illustration. I've come across several reichsrevolvers with this issue- seems to be a common mechanical problem they suffer.

purchase a hand with the flat spring already crimped onto it for any of the Colts replica's and just open the crimp and change it over to your hand. It might need a little minor grinding to make it fit but it will be close as-is. Dixie Gunworks or VTI should have what your looking for.

Have you disassembled it and made sure the hand spring is actually the issue?
Reason I ask, is because I had the same problem, and it turned out the spring was fine, but the shaft that the hand pivots on, and cams to ingage the spring, was broken.
If it is just the spring, that spring is just a flap piece. Simple to make... Maybe try a bobby pin.
