German attic-found time capsule - Picture overload!

Outstanding! The diagram of the soldier' locker looks very much like what we did in the Canadian Army. Just different kit.

But was there pervitin!?!?!? I needs my pervitin

Never heard of Pervitin in all my years until watching Nazi secret weapons on Netflix. It was the first episode. Had to google after watching to confirm since I'd never heard of it. Might explain some of the extreme events that happened on the german side. When a good chunk of the nation is on meth, including the guy in charge. Crazy sh@t will happen!

Where did you see Nazi party membership? I know it might be difficult but say it with me: not all Germans were Nazis, not all Nazis were war criminals.

The members of the Wehrmacht swore an oath to Adolph Hitler in 1942, I believe. That makes them complicit in any and all atrocities.

I wander, why that Nazi Wilhelm Rehfus had not destroyed that Nazi crap before he came to Canada. He must had been proud of the Nazis atrocities.

More likely proud of the friends he left in foreign fields and foxholes.

They had no business to be in foreign fields. They invaded MY country CZECHOSLOVAKIA in 1939.

I tell you, what the reality is: I lost relatives in town of LIDICE, when the Nazis shot all the men, took the women to concentration camps and adopted the children to Deutche families and leveled the town down with bulldozers.

Good for you, I lost branches of my family in Auschwitz and Ravensbruck. My Grandfather was a slave for 6 years. Is that relevant to this thread? No. Do you think your personal loss allows you to push the disgusting notion of collective guilt? It does not.

I'm totally blown away. It's as if today were 1942 and these items were boxed up just this morning. All is pristine ! I'm assuming KRIM stands for "Krimea" on the Ostfront. The quality of your photography leaves me without words. I could study these WWII memorabilia for months and months. Vielen Danken for sharing the records of your ancestor with us !

1.) The Reichswehreid/Führereid began in August 1934, and Civil Servants were forced to take it as well. It was also strongly encouraged to be recited in schools, hospitals, churches, ect, by all members of society, of all ages. It was a dictatorship after all, and being a police state, if you didn't participate there were consequences.

2.) Your ignorant comment doesn't warrant a response, it speaks for its self.

Now, can we please stop all the trolling?

The trip to Sweden might have something to do with the fact that Goring had family there.
His first wife was Swedish.

Some of the photos suggest the officer had a personal relationship to Goring himself.

Very very cool find. What amazes me is the penmanship of that era, unlike the chicken scratch today.

I've noticed that too, it's incredibly precise writing! I only see that type of writing today when I get letters from Poland written by my elderly relatives. Sometimes you'd think they were penned by machines!
I guess the threat of the strap gives you some extra focus on your letters lol!
