Took me a while to get some pics, but here they are.
Sharptail, do the pics back up your thoughts that the gun I described is a guild gun? In your opinion, what would be a fair price for it (there is some mild pitting in the bore)?

For those that missed my original post, she's basically unmarked except for "Prima Stahl" on the barrels, the proof marks (German) and a date stamp of 719 (July 1919).

KK, 'tis indeed a guild gun of modest quality. It is hard to tell from the photos but the gun looks like it is a little off face, and the top lever is well to the left. She has seen some hard use, but with a little TLC she should make a good shooter with low pressure ammunition. It is possible to shim the hook to bring it back on face.

I am going to bail out on the value question until I have done a little more research, I don't want to just guess.

Question: how good are the locks? Do the hammers have any play in them? Are the triggers crisp?

I have a weakness for hammer guns, I love shooting them and would like to see them all restored. The German guns were built of good steel, and with good craftsmanship. This one is a good candidate for a restoration project.

I might disagree that it looks off face --- it ma be, however the way the bls sit in the side clips do not seem to indicate it. Nice old gun!

Sharptail, I think it's just the size of the pics that make it look off face. The lockup is tight with no play and the barrels are as tight to the receiver as they can be. The top lever will go closer to the center than that if I push it over.
As for the locks - the left hammer doesn't have as much "rebound" as the right. But they both lock up solid when cocked, and from what I remember (fired a couple of brass cases with only the primer in them) the triggers were fairly crisp.
Think she was at least worth the $100 I paid for her?

If I do decide to take her out this fall after grouse and rabbits, I'll probably stick to black powder anyways. Just have to get some 11 or 10 gauge wads and overshot cards for the brass shotshells I have.
