I've seen the gun in some detail. Everything I saw looks good, it's unsanded, and everything I saw matched and is original. One caveat, the front sight base as been cut for a Lyman sight blade. Just has a different profile then a German one.

If you sell it in the U.S. it will have to be import marked to comply with U.S. law. Purist collectors(the kind that want these rifles and will pay big money) are turned off by that for sure.

I'm not real worried about getting it there at this point, just exploring all my options for best results. I'm in no real rush to get rid of it but just found out how rare it was and I really have no sentimental attachment to it.

Just wondering. Are the proof marks on the receiver ring(left side) post war or are they from 1934?

To my knowledge..

Crown "B" = single definitive proof with blackpowder proof charge.
Crown "U" = inspection after proof.
Crown "G" = indicates firearm firing a bullet.
Crown "N" = indicates proofed using smokeless/nitro powder.
