German Nazi Flag

Really serious collectors of AK47's happen to be communist despots, African dictators, and Islamic terrorists.

Knowingly or not, you may be seen as one of the above.

Are we really going to posit, on CGN, that people shouldn't collect things because other people might get offended? Really?

Also the members of the NATO Armies my friend.
Stop shooting, please as we can always take a sit and talk it over.
No need for drama here.

What matters is motive. If you genuinely collect WWII from the Nazis with an historical approach then that's a serious collector. These are people who can provide intelligent insight into the era and for them it is an intellectual pursuit.

But even the serious collectors understand that there are people who amass Nazi gear because they like Nazis, approve of their policies, worship Adolf Hitler and think modern governments should be more like them. These creeps are the reason why collecting and displaying Nazi is regarded with some suspicion and why there is a market for used and even replica Zyklon B canisters.

There's a precedent, if you will, that I haven't seen anyone cite, though in nine pages I may have missed it.

The National War museum in Ottawa used to (do they still?) have on display a number of items from Nazi Germany- including, I might add, a swastika flag.

I know, sure as hell, these items were not on display to edify or promote the Nazi agenda or to glorify Hitler. Rather those items were there because they were a part of that era and that conflict. I don't see that an individual having similar items out of historical interest should be any different.

Swastika is thousand years old then National Socialist movement in Germany in 1930s and 1940s...

American Indians use it and it even made it to official signs before WWII:

Asians use it too:

Europeans used it in the ancient times, etc.

Is it against the law to admire the Nazis or agree with what they did?

In Canada no...unless you form hate groups and such, unfortunately in Canada there is no law against being a douchbag.

In Germany yes...if you make it public, such as sing the Nazi anthem etc.

Only certain Religions in Europe get to preach hatred without fear of the law.

It should be.

By the way nice war trophy its likely worth a bit of money. but wiping my ass with it would be priceless.

Just like citizens shouldn't be allowed to own firearms right?

We should be allowed to like or dislike whatever we want. We should be allowed to believe in whatever we wish as long as we take no actions that take away from the rights of other human beings.

Some people are skin head racists, and while I don't agree with them as long as they don't violate the rights of any other person then they can say and believe whatever they want.

I remember this childhood saying... sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me... so why as adults are we concerned with how we sound or how we appear... We are supposed to have freedom of speech and freedom of association but there seems to be a number of people that don't believe we should have those rights.

You are totally welcome to be as politically correct as you want, but I don't want to be told that I must conform to your view of the world.

At the University of Manitoba, at one of the old Residences (Mary? ...can't remember the full name), on the floor when you first enter the building, there are Small Swastikas on the perimeter of the floor and wall.

The 45th Division was, at one time, the National Guard unit of both Arizona and Oklahoma. As populations grew, the 45th Division became the Oklahoma National Guard under control of the Oklahoma governor. A majority of the division's guardsmen were of Indian descent and, for this reason, they adopted an Indian sign, the swastika, as their emblem. When Hitler began the use of the swastika to identify his Nazi organization, the 45th Infantry Division immediately changed its emblem to another Indian sign, the Thunderbird.

Better stay away from US militaria too, just to be safe.

According to Nazi Germany I believe you are correct. Myself I think all citizens who can pass a basic psychological evaluation and are willing to take some firearms training should be encouraged to carry firearms.

I agree but groups of radicals of any sort gathering and invoking Hatred of others is taking action to harm others.

How do you feel about groups of Islamic Extremists preaching hatred to the west and recruiting and radicalizing people in our town squares?

That is very politically correct of you!

You are totally welcome to be as politically correct as you want, but I don't want to be told that I must conform to your view of the world.

I don't believe I asked you to conform to my View .
I have no problem with people collecting stuff. But in my view people who admire or idolize extreme evil like Nazi's , murderers, gangs, bikers(the drug dealing bad guy type) have a defect of some sort.
This post was about the value of the guy's flag and I don't really know the value of the flag and I only know enough history of it to know what I'd use it for.:p I have no other input for this post and would like to apologize to riker for my part in taking this topic off subject:redface:

+1

Anyone who gets offended by a swastika has serious issues

One of the other serious issues I have is that 10 members of my family (that I know of) were butchered in death camps by the wonderful guys who used that symbol... 2 of my grandparents survived the camps and they would be offended too. My dad's dad, who fought in the RAF and had some fingers shot off by Nazi gunners would probably wonder why Canadians would want to fly an enemy flag or promote a symbol of absolute evil...
