German Scope?

OK gents, what have I got here?

It's around 16 inches long, military looking cross hairs, heavy horizontal and lower verticle to fine cross hair. Marked Zeiss ect. Aluminum lense caps with a canvas liner in each. Nice optics.

That is a 8x Zeiss Zielacht, made in the 1920's or early '30's (can't really see your serial). The mounts are commercial hunting double claw mounts. Definitely a German scope!
