I purchased a rifle today that was equipped with a "Tradewinds" 1.5x4 variable scope. Crosshairs were the single vertical post with horizontal cross hair. Made in Western Germany is stamped on body along with a serial#. The rifle was made in the early 1970's. Does anyone know the manufacturer? Thanking anyone in advance for any info.C1A1

"From 58 to 72 Tradewinds Inc of Tacoma, Wash. imported a good quality, reasonably priced series of hunting sciopes". The 1.5-4 was built from 62 to 72. As you say, built in Western Germany, and they seemed to have specialised in Huskie mounts as well. The "Old Scopes" book gives it a current value of $100-150, depending on condition. No word on the actual manufacturer though, sorry. FWIW - dan
