Get a better extractor and firing pin or just get a new bolt?

Hey guys. My 10/22 has always stovepiped and semi rarely had FTF's. Not extreme problem but happens often enough I would like to get it fixed. I am jealous of the 1 fte and 1 ftf per 5000 shots people ;). I am going to start with a firing pin and extractor...but then I got to thinking...for not too much more I could get an aftermarket bolt, radius and all nicely machined. What would you recommend?

I know lots of people say polish and what not. Which I will do if the new extractor doesn't work. But I have probably shot 5000 rounds through it so it is pretty polished already.

Also note...my bolt is off spec. The groove for the left feed lip on the magazine (looking down the gun) is wavy so much so that battledyne mags (which are super close to the bolts apparently) do not work in my gun ( pull the bolt back...which was hard...for sure metal on metal, and then will not close) so...that also plays into the "maybe look into getting a new bolt" decision.

What do you guys think? I want stovepipes and FTF to be a thing of the past. Also is getting a new charging handle worth while? Mine seems not very tight and could be contributing to cycling friction

Does this happen with every type of ammo, sub sonic and HV ammo?
My 10/22 stovepipes every round with my hc3r mag with four types of ammo. However on my stock 10 rounder and my bx25x2, I can feed the gun any ammo I want and no stovepips or ftf.
I've gone through two hc3r mags. Still the same issue.
FYI I have a tavtical solutions barrel.
Hope you fine a solution, I know what a pain the ftf/fte are!

Mine used to stovepipe on occasion. New Power Custom extractor = no stovepipes. Your results may vary. Try that first, it's cheap, easy, and can be resold if need be.

I was questioning the specs of my R22 bolt so got a flat black kidd bolt for 170$ great increase in reliability, in the end only comes to how much $ you want to spend

You mean... marlin owners? lol I'm just kidding, some marlins Never FTF or FTE.

If bolt is out of spec, fix or replace. Shouldn't be too hard to find one. Upgrade the extractor too.

Guess i'm one of the few lucky ones, never had a FTE with my 10-22, had some feeding problems years ago when i tried to use up some long ammo. I would replace the extractor first then go with more expensive parts if that doesn't help.

True. Maybe I will get the extractor first and go from there. But I would like to shoot battledynes outta both of my 10/22's. I just swapped my wifes bolt into my gun to fire battedyne. I guess I could get a new extractor and if it doesn't fix it I could just put it in my wife's bolt! I should have thought of that before:

Ok I am convinced now...next question:

Which is best extractor upgrade? Also..."extra power spring" or stock spring? Some come with an extra power spring but I have heard multiple spring theories

Buy a Volquartsen extractor.

Do your self a favor. If your running the Factory charging handle Polish the guide rod. google that.
Another thing
look at tweeking your EJECTOR some times that's all it takes.
