OSA is holding shoots for milsurps at Milcun Training Center, near Minden, ON, again this season.
Saturday 17 May: Historical Military Rifle - Clinic. Zeroing, troubleshooting, practice, etc. Show and tell?
Saturday 12 July: Historical Military Rifle - Practice.
Saturday 10 August: Historical Military Rifle - Match.

See w ww.osacanada.ca for further information.

NSRA does a series of three 100m shoots with a fall 200, 500, 600m on tin hat style targets. Just google nova scotia rifle association, and contact the open section chair, his email is on the web page.
Nova Scotia is a bit of hike for those of us in Ontario but thanks for the hijack just the same.

Very nice. Not everyone is prepared to drive 400km and 4 1/2 hours for a shoot.
Besides, I don't see the opportunity to shoot 600 meters at EOSC
FYI at the OSA milsurp shoot, we have an elimination event where you get 1 shot at a 12" target. If you miss, you're out. If you hit, you can shoot again from 100m further back until we have a winner. So far in the past 3 years, nobody's made it past 500, even in the sniper/optics category.

No, EOSC just too far, being the far side of Ottawa.
Milcun is just down the road...

Reminder:
The July Historical Military Rifle Shoot is on Saturday July 12.
This is a "Practice" meaning we will go through the entire course of fire.

Here is the link to register for the event:
https://practiscore.com/osa-historical-military-rifle-practice-12-july-2025/register

The course of fire and event description is published on the OSA web page:
OSA CoF - 2024 Historic Military Rifle - 2024-05-23
Looks like only 7 spots remaining from the practiscore link!

We just got back from the shoot today at Milcun. I can't recommend the OSA and the milsurp match / practice match enough! The course of fire is a ton of fun and while challenging is still very doable. I used an old 1939 Tula 91/30 Mosin and thoroughly enjoyed the shoot. Learned a ton from the guys there as well.

The huge benefit to these days is meeting fellow shooters and learning. There is a wealth of experience at these events and the people are incredibly happy to help out and get you / your rifle sorted and on track.

If you were on the fence about the requirements or debating the drive I can honestly say it's worth every penny and every minute in the car.

I shot earlier this spring, and again today. The next match is mid Aug.

The air force says, there's no substitute for air under your seat. The same for shooting milsurps. Each trip to the range has been an improvement from the last.
