getting a 6br to feed properly

Trying to figure out the best way to get my 6mmBR to feed reliably.
Its a hart barreled remington 600. Currently its only a single shot but I'd like to fix it up for varmint shooting since its such a nice little gun.
I've heard about trying a 243 mag spring, cutting down the .308 follower and also about people using .223 mag parts. Anyone try this?

thanks! awesome write up. Just looked on brownells and it'll cost me about $16 for the parts.....not to bad.
