Hey guys-I know some of the better light mounts rely on access to the mag tube, but if you had a Shockwave without any exposed mag tube the (light) options seem to be integrated Surefire, or Streamlight...if the look/feel of those bulky options appeals. I know it's more a functional thing than aesthetic..but not a fan of either. Wondering if there are any that are smaller/integrated into the pump...I think I've seen that somewhere? Wondering about getting a small section of pic rail affixed to the pump itself, @ about 10:30 sighting down the barrel? Easier said than done if the result is to be robust/trustworthy. Barely want a light on it anyway, so a light without seeing a light would be perfect. lol I even remember I once had a laser that mounted IN the mag tube of an 870 and cost you a round capacity-wise, but something like that might be ideal....?

There are a couple of options available based on your taste. There are lights that replace the mag tube - such as the MK7 from Steiner - and others that are more traditional. As you've mentioned, a section of pic can be added to the pump with some work or on the mag tube. Then it's a matter of light selection.

I played around with the same idea when I thought about getting rid of my pre-Surefire forend light, and the best case scenario for me would have been the Surefire Micro Scout. It gets the light as close to the gun as it can, while still kicking off some lumens. But it's also a serious investment just to make up some room.

This made me rethink the problem. It's not about form but rather function. If I need the capability but don't need to have the light full time, why not just get the pic rail and worry about the light when I need it? If you have a pistol light, even better. Get the $30 magcap rail, and throw it on when you need it.
