Does anyone know of someone who will provide a repair quote by email? I have a damaged firearm from Canada Post and they are asking for a repair quote to move the claim forward.

Been a long time since CanPost or anyone trashed one of my packages, but iirc it's the receivers responsibility to file the claim.

Either way, it depends on what the damage is. If it's blatantly obvious the barrel is bent then it's not to hard to get a quote for a new barrel + installation. If it's a 1911 that's been squished hard enough to effect the slide to frame play then that's more complicated. Maybe the slide can be spread, or maybe it's trashed.

Post the pics, it'll help alot.

The receiver is not Canada Post's customer. The sender is.
Very much doubt anybody will give you a quote without seeing the thing. Tell the buyer to take it to a smithy have it looked at and send you the quote. Plan 'B' s to give 'em a replacement value. You'd have to read CP's policy though.

It is nothing major luckily, they dropped it or something and the charge handle broke off the bolt and fell out of the damaged box. I am just going to send them a link with a replacement handle and hope they pay for that. From what I read they rarely pay out though....worth a shot.
