I really like my savage brush hunter in 338 Winchester. I had never heard if them until the day I walked into the rifle store. I was looking for something short powerful and quick pointing. When I was handed the rifle I liked the satin finished heavy barrel, the oversized bolt handle and the overall feel of it. When I aimed it, it just seemed to lock onto the target. I bought it there on the spot and I am still impressed by it all. I have heard how well Savage shoots and this one doesn't disappoint.

This fall i hunted wit my Benelli R1 338 Mag for the first time and really discovered a fantastic caliber, i did kill a nice moose now i am getting another 338 Mag, this time i will buy a Savage 116 Alaskan Brush rifle with an 18 inch barrel... Guess i needed another favorite caliber... And i found it... JP

Did you ever show us that moose? Can't remember seeing a thread about it last fall? From a fellow moose hunter.
