Welcome to Canada, boys. Just the way it is. OP wants a shorter barrel, he goes Restricted. It appears these stupid laws are here to stay so that's the reality. Mine is a range toy and that's all it'll ever be. If the CZ958's ever come out, I'll buy a NR one.

And that is why the discussion is about moving the front sight back and threading on a fake can or brake.

I'd actually like to do this and use an AK front sight if it's similar in height.

Is that even legally possible? Seems like a lot of work to still have 18.6" on the end when you are done.

It's a front sight, who cares where it is on the barrel and what covers up the excess?
