Summer second 4 weeks - Hybrid:

6 km dirt trail for 10th week. 40 lbs pack - for best time
6 km city run for 11th week - for best time
6 km dirt trail run for 12th week. 40 lbs pack - jogging for best time

I go out every other day for recup. time in between.

After week 12, it is all alternates pack runs and and 6km city jogging alternated. Weight keeps adding on pack in 5lbs increments.

FYI - Boots used are Oakley SIs. Nice and light like a runner, but with better ankle support.
Pack is a PLCE 90L Brit. bergan, usually loaded with something real comfortable like books or sandbags.

I drop about 30 pounds around summer. Then I get fat in winter with work and no time to train.
Pffff thats not nearly a strict enough of a routine. :D

What I do is (Being 23).......eat healthy (Lots of protien, carbs, vit/min, water, etc. do lots of cardiovascular work (Swimming, running, sports, ###, etc)...and I press 45.lbs plates like there going out of style. Benching 200.lbs (I weight 185) doing curls and other fun stuff like that.

I'm no Arnold.....but I'm stacked....and YES it helps me shoot better.
Now, i gotta go to the gym, lates.

Keep it up boys..nothing better than some good workouts. I recently stopped smoking pot. I work out and still study guns and conflict. Feel like a million and 1 quarter bucks.

I used to train with a huge powerlifter and I teased him about looking like he was about to crush his gun everytime he shot it.

Me, I focus on cardio in the summer and weights in the winter. Of course you've got to mix them up because one sucks without the other.

Also keep track of what you do(statistically)and always aim to improve(and to point out that you're stronger or faster to people that don't keep in shape)

For shooting I don't give a rats ass about being bigger, stronger or faster than anyone.NONE of those make an ounce of difference. You want to beat me to the firing line?Sure.Go ahead its all yours. As a matter of fact I'm usually one of the last to get there.Always makes me laugh when the young infantry guys get up and run the 100m in 15 seconds and then are breathing so hard that they can't hit what they are shooting at.I love seeing that.Means another gong in my pocket ;)
Cardio is where its at.When you can go the 100m and not be breathing like you just ran a marathon, then its all good.If your fat or out of shape then try taking the whole time to get down there. It ain't a race.

how much time does a person have to get to the 100 yd line, and do the other shooters wait to fire till he is there or do they shoot as soon as they get there ?

generally speaking you have 30-35 seconds to get there before the targets come up.Thats plenty of time.

so 30 seconds then the targets are exposed, how long are they exposed for and how many shots fired ?

I will have to time my waddle..... will a fast to medium fast walk make it ?

35 seconds? That sounds like plenty of time. Can someone give me a link to or point me in the direction of exactly how a service rifle match goes?

Thanks,
