I would like to start IPSC Production this summer.
My budget is somewhat limited, but I absolutely want a new 9mm handgun to piss off the liberals... ;)

What should I get between a CZ75 SP01, Glock 17 or 17C ?

I having a tendancy to prefer Glock has more replacement & match-grade parts are available, but the SP-01 is so nice...
And what are the +/- of G17 versus G17C ?

Glock is much faster to use, Ive found. But I used it only in Open div.

I found it was super fast to reload. Just ran the gun dry, dropped the mag, tossed a new one in and bumped the base plate as I was loading and it would trip the slide stop, chambering a round. Only gun I used that I could get it to do that.

Is that a "built-in feature" of the gen II or gen III ?

Go with the Glock...same trigger pull each time.
Some people don't seem to have any issues with double action/first pull, then
the rest are single action (as would be the case with the CZ)...
By the way, I have, and enjoy shooting both!

I wouldn't say it's a design feature, it's a user feature. My Beretta does it, as do most guns, if you do it right, but never ever expect it to work 100% of the time. The only gun that was designed to do something similar to that is the HKP7 series (M13 as well), you release the squeezer thing as you reload and then squeeze it again and the slide goes forward.
As for Glocks being faster? Sorry, compared to a tricked out 1911 there is no comparison to function time. The 1911 wins hands down. Hence the reason you don't see any of the top shooters using Glocks in Open.

My CZ-75 does that. Figured it out when I got pissed off because I still can not get a decent grouping with pistols.

and you'll be the only one, or maybe one of two people on the planet, cuz I think your dad has one, or had one too. Good luck though, you'll have fun. especially when you do beat the odd person with it.
as for the original question I'd have to go with the SP01 or whatever it's called over the regular CZ.

Nah that was his, I was just using it. I allready beat the odd person with it, 2 medals and 1 plaque won using it. Makes me wonder if I was racing against anyone

Seeing that the CZ Sp01 has some more weight to the front of it, It should make it better for soaking up the recoil. Also that high rise beaver tail looks awfull cozy, wonder how many people got hammer bite from the cz 75?

Find a gun you shot the best ...

SP01 is my fave pistol but its too heavy for IDPA production.

Something to think about.
