getting into long distance shooting... What to buy?

and a hornady AP progressive press with mystic precision. Will be getting the press by october, so until then factory rounds it is (gotta get my brass some how?).

I'm a long time shooter and reloader but certainly no authority.
I'm curious why you chose a progressive press for precision reloading.

In response to your original post, this is how I solved the same "problem" ;) I also shoot left shoulder and have been using right handed rifles for ever without a problem.
I started with a Rem700 Sendero .308. Then moved to a Rem700 Police, a Winchester 70 and finaly my current Sako TRG-22.

As always, spend more on the scope than on the rifle. You can reuse the scope on a better rifle later if you have more $. Through my different rifles, I kept the same Leupold Mark 4 MR/T with TMR reticule front focal plane scope I got first. I would probably look into NightForce or Svarowsky these days. But my Leupold works great.

I do not shoot F Class, so anything I like is fine. But obviously you should get something that matches your competition class if you ever want to get into that.

Do not go cheap on the scope rings and bases, that is another thing you can reuse.

Good reading / shopping!

a hornady AP progressive press

You may want to rethink that one if you want precision shooting. A lot of us weigh powder dose for each round for the best accuracy. 0.2 of a grain can make a big diff in some rifles. You got a 5R 308 win? chances are you'll be using 4064 or Varget - both are stick powder and not the best in auto throwers.

I guess the Hornady lnl would better?

Your new to it, get a Lee starters kit. Its single stage. You will do better with it. Christ... I STILL use mine. I can find you a whole kit for roughly $200+shipping. Progressive is not a precision shooters friend. Take the time to measure your powder, and weigh each round.

Its ur project, Do it ur way. I'm just recommending things.

Not practising what you preach cause there is NO way the Mark 4 cost more than a TRG22. Please tell me you didn't GOLD plate the Mark 4 :)

Happy with my CHEAP S3-8-32 on my TRG. Need to be in SB class to outspend a TRG.
... finale my current Sako TRG-22.

Didn't like my HDY LNL AP for sizing and seating 308s. Got a Forster co-ax. Luv it, ease of sizing 308s, seating with Forster Ultra seater gives great feel, can tell by pressure any odd seating depths. Weight with a RCBS chargemaster 1500 combo, auto dispense saves lots of time. Reloading gear gets expensive.

Use the LNL AP for pistols, too much flex for accurate handloading.

Most common is FED GMM ammo. Find Lapua brass better quality; cheaper to handload LAPUA than FGMM. My TRG likes 167gr Lapua OTM bullets. Tons of 308 match choice. Handload ASAP.

Very nice! I have that same press, and its still like new, I use the #### out of it. I also purchased there cast iron version for the 50BMG and its a tank. I suggest you buy some good RCBS dies, or some good Hornady ones. My 308 is Hornady, my 338 and 50 are RCBS, everything else is all Lee. Get more quick change bushings, they save time, and you never have to re-adjust them.

Oh efff
I'm not getting the bipod for that price.

Apparently the store owner screwed up and put up the wrong price for over 2000 sales (9PM to 9AM)im thinking they put their cost instead of MSRP. Now I bought the press from same shop, but I haven't received an email about that one yet? :( so I think i'll have to pay double and then some for the same kit at x-reload

Yeah I suppose, but no email so far so well see if the price stays.
Brighter side of things came across this gem last night before bed. (removed link, deleted) Just sent emt this morning! All mine cadex field strike in od green to go with the od Pelican 1750 I got for 290 taxes shipped new

Got everyting other than the Harris Bipod, flip up sun shades, and rings. Then all that's left is sighting it in, and cutting the Pelican case foam. Will post pictures tonight in the Cadex, but no optics (getting rings tmr).
I also picked up the Lee breach lock challenger kit with rcbs dies, 5 extra rods, and case trimming pilot. Everything for under 230 shipped with taxes. Should have my press by September!

Finished for now.
