Hello Gunnutz

I am hoping to shoot some Canadian Geese and Mallards this year.

Can someone explain for me how to get the liscences and/or stamps necessary? (I live In SW Ont. if that helps)

Also how do I find out when the seasons are and what the bag limit is?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Yup, you'll need a small game license, and a migratory bird permit( sold at canada Post)then you'll need decoys, clothing and start putting on the miles and the smiles! Sw ontario you arent going to shoot waterfowl in too many public areas without being in controlled hunt areas. So it's off to visit landowner after landowner after landowner, and be prepared to give a little something in exchange. After 30 years in this game and countless places to hunt now, it's time, courtesy, respect and sharing that will get you landowner permission.

Well its not too hard in Alberta. Here, you go to the Fishin Hole, get your general bird and then to the post office to get your migratory and then find a close field or lake blast away....Sept 1st heading out after work! CANT WAIT

I do not have the reg's in front of me, but the season opener in SA was pushed back a couple of days for waterfowler heritage days. Or was it shortened?

Getting old, brain slipping...... what was I saying?

I just happen have a 40 acres of woods as a backyard :dancingbanana:
It's got evergreen thickets, maple forests, two creeks running through it and cornfields on two sides of it.

All I have to do is walk down a trail to hunt turkey, deer, geese, mallards, rabbits, squirrels, coons and crows. I oughta be fine right here.
