Getting RPAL...22lr pistol choices?

Buy all of them. Seriously, I have the Buckmark Contour 5.25. Very Accurate and well balanced. Ruger 22/45 is also good, and lighter. Beretta Neos looks futuristic but the easiest to clean and strip. My suggestion, get your RPAL, join a club and try as much pistols from members. Buy good rimfire ammo so you do not use their ammo. Fed 525, Blazer, Win M22, CCI SV or CCI Minimag are good. Win 222/333/525 are not bad. Win Wildcat is inconsistent. Some Remys are also good but dirty on your pistol. You might also want to consider GSG 1911 and Alfa Proj rimfire revolvers.

You would likely be happy with either of the Buckmark or Ruger.
 
Pass on the neos...seen too many folks have issues with them. The buckmark is the best gun for the buck, but there are no flies on the ruger, it's just a little more dinero. I find the lite model too light, a little weight forward is much easier to shoot. Either pistol will eat anything you throw at it, but i generally just feed mine target velocity as it's generally a bit less wear, and funtions fine in every rimfire i own, from my gsg to the M41....
 
My two cents is a SIG P226 Classic in.22LR. It's a true 226 frame, same feel, function, etc. The. Beauty of this is when your ready to move onn to centrefire you can grab up an exchange kit and you have yourself a full blown 226. I love mine.
 
yes, but it's twice the price of the pistols he's looking at, and whiles it's a great training aid if you shoot a 226, the ruger and buckmark are both better dedicated rimfire pistols.

But if you think the 226 rimfire is nice, try the CZ cadet, nicer still for a service style rimfire.
 
Good to have all your opinions guys, thanks! Still deciding ,but leaning towards the blue ruger 22/45 lite. Watched some you tube videos and the thing looks like a blast to shoot and no problems cycling ammo other than low fps stuff.
