Getting second barrel

I have a S&W 41 with a 166mm barrel on it now, if I find a shorter barrel (106mm or longer) do I have to let the cfc know or does this not change anything as long as the 166mm barrel stays with the gun and I came change to the
shorter barrel at the range. Thanks

S&W M 41's only come with 5.5"(139.7mm) and 7"(177.8mm) barrels. If you can find a new 5.5" barrel, it'll likely have to be fitted by a smithy. However, it's still just restricted. So you don't need to do anything else since you're keeping the longer barrel. There's nothing that says you can't have two non-prohibited barrels.
