Just wanted to mention this.... was looking for a sig p250 guide rod and spring, wanted a metal rod, mine was starting to chip off at the blunt end. That was a polymer one, so md charleton got back to me and said to order parts from a dealer or send gun in for repair? Did not want to send it out for warranty so ordered the part from a local dealer, never heard back, not sure if my part was on back order.
But maybe buying a glock , or a 1911, or a more common pistol would solve this problem of access to common parts? Some U.S. part dealers have these parts, some had to order, some don't ship to canada? Thoughts?

MD Charlton does not do retail sale, for Sig parts you'll need to contact your local/or any dealer so they can order parts from MD Charlton for you, and pick up the part from the dealer when its arrived.

Depending what you are after, it may take any where from a few weeks to several months.

You hit the nail on the head.... I will think about parts availability when purchasing any gun in the future... I am guessing 1911 parts are easy to get, maybe glock as well?

Actually I own a Sig Sauer Legion and the rep for MD told me once the Legion products issue gets solved I can order them and have them delivered as a consumer. This may be special case only though.
