This is why i hate buying ammo at the indoor range.
i only get there when i go to visit my dad and every single damn time i forget to take my ammo!

top box is from the indoor range, lower box is from my LGS up north here.

Consider yourself lucky ;) I copied this from Poco DVC's walk in ammo price:

Handguns
9 MM 50 Bullets $37.00
40 S&W 50 Bullets $40.00
45 ACP 50 Bullets $50.00
50 AE 1 Bullets $8.00
22 LR 50 Bullets $17.00
50 AE 5 Bullets $30.00

well that come with free gun rental I think (oh crap forgot that $30 admission fee on top of all these)... Never used that I only go there with my own gun and ammo.

Wow, I'm in the wrong business. Those are some interesting prices.

When I think of all the hoops Range operators need to jump through, not to mention the expense, to start and maintain their indoor ranges, those prices are fair, IMO.

After all, regular shooters like us know where to get the ammo deals anyways, or we reload.

Im very happy with the cost of limited membership at DVC which allows me to shoot 5-10pm on Mondays and 12nn to 2pm Wed, Thurs and Fri. $150 year and I can shoot year round, cool in summer, warm in winter, dry all the time.

I am glad Kelly put up DVC when he did.

This is like comparing price of a beer at the bar and at a grocery store ;)

I would understand the outrage if you were forced to buy in some way or mislead, but once the price is there, you decide :)

My god you spent $10.00 dollars extra to spend a day with your dad.#### me mine is dead .Send me a pm i will send you the $10.00.

You acknowledge that you forgot, but still point the finger at them. So there's that.
Stop forgetting and your problem will be solved.

Considering the cost involved running an indoor range, that's cheap.

Edit to add; :)

It's not meant for people with their own guns.

I know ;) This is not a whine and I did mention that it is part of the price for trying out guns you want. In fact I love DVC's membership for I am a member with them. This is only to comfort OP's post by saying that it could be always be more LOL.

Even with the current price as it is... I see line up from time to time so it is telling us something.

Time and a place for spending on range ammo. I'm new to the game, and spent a ton of time and money at my local range buying marked up blazer brass 115g. But also had a blast with 12 or more different handguns before I bought mine. FWIW gotenda has a small markdown online right now. Just ordered 2000rds.

Every indoor range I've been to requires you to purchase the ammo there, thankfully they don't charge a premium.

Indoor range I belong to allows you to use your own ammo (purchased or reloaded) in your own personal firearms. Only restrictions are no steel.

If you are using their firearms then you are using their ammo at their prices. Most guys that have their own firearms learn quickly to buy bulk elsewhere or reload but even with that said I have bought cased lots for a decent price from the range as well. Being a member gets you 10% off.

Or the cost of taking a taxi vs your own car or a hotel room to your bedroom. :)
