Getting stuck with a handgun you don't want

I have a Norinco M213 sitting in the back of my safe for years now that I absolutely detest. Not only is it just a garbage gun, but my mitts are way too big to comfortably shoot it. Always meant to sell it, but forgot. Guess I'm stuck with it now.

most of us did the same to have everything approved in time and manner. a shame im keeping a 9mm 1911 lol ... i got what i wanted and sold what i think was not needed. and even my wife stole me one that i need to find very fast ...to get one for me.

sometimes it is not easy to find what may fit or not especially where we are. sometimes worst the gamble sometimes not.

And here I bought a 1911 in 9mm… ON PURPOSE!

My only “this is it” purchase was a S&W Model 17 as it was the first handgun I shot 25 years ago. Nothing else felt pressing frankly.

On your alloy .44, that’s actually a really neat gun and one of the few I’d considered for work ATC. The alloy is Scandium, which is quite impressive and not pot metal, and the cylinder is titanium. The downside is they’re not terribly comfortable to shoot with Mag loads. Would be a sweetheart with .44 Specials however, and definitely a gun worth appreciating. Could have done a lot worse as a last moment impulse purchase.

Given there's no legal choice, how about just doing it the only way that's left? Report it stolen then just sell it the next time you're in the Jane and Finch or Jamestown area. Lots of handgun transfers still going on there I'm guessing.

Don't stress.

This Liberal/NDP cabal is going to be out of the gun stealing business long before any of their criminal actions can come to fruition.

I've got 5 polymer 80 lowers I bought that I might regret if they ban import of parts but I'll get to that bridge when it crosses

“Getting stuck with a handgun you don't want” is a lot better than being without a handgun you want and need.

Many Canadians have been in that situation since at least C-68.

Better than being in my situation and not having any revolvers while having had aspirations of someday enjoying cowboy action shooting... guess I'm going to have to make friends with someone that participates in these events...

Same here
dreams of taking up future interests were dashed

False.

33 Subject to section 34, a person may lend a firearm only if

(a) the person

(i) has reasonable grounds to believe that the borrower holds a licence authorizing the borrower to possess that kind of firearm, and

(ii) in the case of a prohibited firearm or a restricted firearm, lends the registration certificate for it to the borrower; or

(b) the borrower uses the firearm under the direct and immediate supervision of the person in the same manner in which the person may lawfully use it.
This part would be applicable where the borrower does NOT possess a valid PAL.

There is still att issues that have to be dealt with. Borrower would need an att to get home. Then an att for range use for the gun they do not own.

Old atts were more open to this.

I was at a gun range and asked the same question and was told it is a grey area owner has to be present while shooting at range can anyone clarify ?

Regards

One has to have an RPAL card, a reg certificate for the HG (hard or soft copy, doesn't matter) and an ATT (again, hard or soft copy) for it from/to its place of keeping to/from a range (or a list of ranges)

UPD: Online ATT request availability makes it easier to get, as for not owned HGs CFO usually was/is hesitant to issue long term ATTs ..
now it's much simpler ...do it JIT of an occasion ...
