I called Sig Arms and they said they could send me a certificate for 12 bucks with the build date. So I said ok and asked if they could ship to Canada, but they can't, because that would be convenient and all Americans know that the entire world has states and ZIP codes :mad: :rolleyes:
So they referred me to a Quebec company that says they can only do it if I bought it from them. So no such luck.

Where to go to get the build date of my Sig pistol? Sig won't give it. Their Canadian guys won't give it. :weird:

Check under the front of the barrel. There should be two letters there. They tell you the year it was made.

Look here for the two-digit date code:

The letters correspond to numbers, indicating the year of manufacture:

A = 0
B = 1
C = 2
D = 3
E = 4
F = 5
G = 6
H = 7
J = 8
K = 9

JC, for example, would be 82 or 1982.

you can also check the proof date...which is very close to the manufacturing date anyway...
all german guns have the proof date stamped in front of the proof stamp...
for example 572 means the gun was proofed in May of 1972...
Cheers
