Getting tired of 9mm... 45 acp?

While you're in the process of thinking about things it may be interesting to think out of the box just abit. Coonan makes semi autos in .357 The thing is larger hands are pretty much needed as the grip needs to house .357 cases.

It's just a thought. If you're heart is set on .45acp nobody could ever fault you for that! Whatever you get enjoy.

I have always loved the 1911 .45 ACP.

I had only fired a 1911 in 9mm before I got my .45. It was pretty nice, but I prefer .45 ACP.

The .38 Super, 10mm are cool, but the classic is .45 ACP.

7.62x25 is a fun little round and there's is a modern pistol that shoots the cartridge. I don't mind the Tok platform as I have average sized hands but do find it necessary when shooting my full house reloads to tape between thumb and index finger to prevent blood spattering hammer bite haha. Pretty new to pistols but can say I truely enjoy my Toks and have yet to become bored with them after nearly a year of shooting. Do have a Norc P226 clone in 40S&W in the works but transfer is delayed due to the pistol being in the same order as an evil AR type rifle. Was told there's a mandatory 4 week wait for any assault weapon transfers. Well as I wait for the transfer I had time to write a letter to the minister of public safety concerning this insultingly long wait as well as forward a copy to the CFO office. Also decided on my next hand cannon which will be a Norc hicap 1911 in 45ACP.

Get a 10mm. You'll actually save money if you reload (over 45 that is). I really liked my G 20. The grip was a whisker big for my paw and it does hit your hand harder, the recoil isn't unpleasant though. It was also my most accurate pistol to date (my best group that is). You want a change over 9mm...10mm is a change.

If you are going .45acp take a look at the CZ 97B. Great pistol, good price and will shoot with the best of the 1911's out of the box, New sights aren't mandatory but may prove useful.

Take Care

In .44 mag. I have only fired a S&W model 29 6 1/2" and some very good quality time with a Ruger Super Blackhawk 7 1/2", but I'd give a snub a go any time!

I do know how barrel weight tames things down, but I'd give one a fair go.

About one cylinder of full house loads and I'm happy. Speer has data that they call short barrel loads which are about 2/3's full house which aren't bad at all. I have a smith 624 snub in 44 special, a 629 snub in 44 magnum and a 5 1/2" redhawk to round it out. I am thinking about a 44 lever gun to finish the collection, but don't really like the henry's

I've shot my uncle's 10-1/2" barrelled Blackhawk a few times now. The added length doesn't tame it THAT much... Still way more fun than 9mm.
