Getting tired of 9mm... 45 acp?

If you're finding any handgun is becoming boring I suspect it is because you aren't using it right. Check into the various handgun competitions in your area. Simple stand and shoot target shooting does get boring after a while. Adding the pressure of shooting while on the clock and at multiple targets spices things up by a lot.

I likely would not own even a third of the guns I've got or shoot a third as much ammo if I was limited to simple single stationary target shooting.

Totally agree.
I am shifting from one caliber to another until I get bored of shooting. Then I join the ipsc and my fun began again.
I was wrong about the caliber issue because I wasn't getting most of the fun out of the shooting sport.
Also, I like .45 cal and for me it is more fun to shoot.
 
For the money I think the Tok is a blast. The guns that fire it can be shifty, but the round itself is exciting - kicks like a 45 and sounds like a rifle. My 2 cents.

Decide on a budget, 1911s can be pricey, esp decent ones and then you will have to buy some aftermarket reliable magazines, as the ones that come with most 1911s are not as reliable as say Wilson Combat magazines, which cost more money. Its also a harder gun to take down, once you get used to it its not too bad. The benefits of course are looks, as 1911s are ###y. The 1911 trigger is really forgiving and you will find yourself being the most accurate you have ever been.

Have a few of each, I shoot the 45s way more than the 9s. As for ammo cost you need to get into reloading.
 
All that 45 talks making me shop to add another 1911 to my herd... This is an endless fun story... JP.
 
Whenever I get tired or bored of shooting my semi auto handguns there is only one fix, my 357 magnum revolver ! Total different hold, sensation and slower ! Give a wheel gun a try !!
 
So I went in and looked at a bunch of different 1911's and I was completely surprised about the norinco 1911. For the price and the fact that its all steel I was shocked to see what the norinco had to offer. So I picked one up...
 
I have two .45, one 1911, one G41. then 2 x 40 S&W. 9mm is on the way for me due to the irungun sale on the p226 extreme. otherwise, I prefer bigger caliber. for revolver, .357mag & 44mag which will cover .38sp & 44sp.
I love 45 in the way that its recoil goes almost stright back. so I actually shoot 45 better than I do for 40 & 9, even passed my club test with G21. It's just such great caliber.

If the fit of the parts is good then they are a great gun. Or with some trigger work can BE a great gun. But the parts fit varies by far too much for me to ever buy another Norinco without a personal inspection ever again.
