Getting your name engraved on a gun

Engraving your name on a gun is like a asking a chic to have your name tattooed on her arse. Its cools for the first while but once you get tried of her and you move on, who is gonna what her when she drops her pants for the first time and they see your name, no matter how perfect the arse is?

Lol good one

:) Some very 'colourful' and entertaining :p comments for and against. In general, I stand with the nay sayers, with one exception. A while back, I acquired a Zastava in 9.3x62. I don't wish to have my name engraved on it but I am seriously considering having ".366 Wagner" engraved on it. That is, if I can find someone or some shop locally that will do it. :) .

I wish I had pictures........

Somewhere out there is my old marlin 336 in 35 remington with "The Dawg" engraved tastefully on the side of the receiver, every time I was stopped in a game check or checked out in the field my answer was always "just taking the dawg for the walk......"
those with a badge that inspected the rifle got a good chuckle.......hoping when my favorite now retired CO writes his first book I get honorable mention more then once for making him laugh and for bringing a tear to his eye.......

It's your rifle.....do as you wish.....I did, and I don't regret it

I have often bought guns I really like and had no intention of selling only to turn around and sell them. I have had a few with the medallion in the bottom of the stock for initials to be engraved in and left them alone as well. I am glad I never engraved my name or initials in them as it would have made for a tough resell. I have seen some nice guns in the EE I would have purchased had it not been for initials engraved on the trigger guards etc. Remember never say never!

Go for it..... Also, don't forget to get a vanity plate for your car with your name on it, monogrammed towels as well as a monogrammed bath robe.....

People will know who your sh1t belongs to and you will be the coolest guy in school.... I promise.... :)

Just kidding, do whatever floats your boat....
