A friend of mine bought one of these fine little rifles. We took it to the range and I really enjoyed it. The open bolt fireing action is something ive never really tried before. Found it to be very fast and amazingly smooth.
Im gonna bring my Rem Speedmaster next week and race him...lol

Ive done some searching online to find some info and have come up with
very little. Does anyone have a schematic? He wants to totally strip it.

Now for model info The only thing it had on the receiver was
Gevarm .22 semiautomatique. Wish i would have taken a picture but
it looks like this but clip fed instead of tube.

Thanks.

Clear the rifle, remove the magazine. Unscrew the knob at the end of the forend. Barrel assembly will pull out to the front. The bolt will come out to the front, after its cocking handle is pulled out. There is a catch on the bottom, by the magazine opening which must be tripped to allow the bolt to move foreward. There is a guide for the mainspring. It is a separate piece. If it within the bolt, the bolt is heavier, and this is the setup for high speed ammunition. Put the guide behid the bolt, and the rifle is adjusted for standard velocity. The trigger machanism is secured with spring fit roll pins. Best not to remove them without the proper punches. These are good shooting little rifles. Its too bad the factory was destroyed by fire, years ago. Be careful with the magazine. Hard to find, and expensive. There was a run of 8 round mags made a while back, don't know if Western Gun Partrs still has any.

If he were to sell it what do you think he could get?
Seriously this thing is practicaly mint

$150.00 is a steal I have one. Have had it for years. It was my fathers before that. He said he paid $14.75 in 1958. With two mags. Most of the ones I've seen go for between $200.00-$325.00 or so depending on condition.

Dave.

Here's a few pics of mine, still searching for a factory mag for it, used to have an 8 shot, would like to find another one if anyone's willing to sell!

Got a clip! Factory 8 shot supplied by Dump Shoot, thank you very much! Now my Gevarm isn't a single shot anymore! :D

Thanks Paul!

Kevin

Does anyone know how to add feedback to a sellers profile? I wanted to say Dump Shoot was very prompt in getting the clip in the mail, and it is exactly as he promised!

There Are Gevarms, And Then There Are GEVARMS...

The guns pictured so far seem to both be the E1 takedown model. One sold at an online U.S. gun auction about a month ago for $150. Few months earlier someone was advertising one for $500 and it went fast. I missed the $150 deal by just a couple of days. Which shows it pays to search the auction sites on a DAILY basis. (And, I cry easily over such disasters.)

Below is my little E1 in takedown mode with one of each mag. I sold a 20rd mag for $175 about a year ago and I still kick myself for getting rid of it. Also have a VERY NICE A7 (closed bolt) I'm looking to upgrade. Mine is missing the original rear sight because some previous owner scoped it then promptly lost the original.

Also pictured below is my current mag stash, 2 of each capacity.
