What's this worth? I got this from my uncle and am looking to sell it because I already have a 222 rem, but I can find very little info on this gun. It is stamped Gevarm C1 Carabine 222 Made in France. The only Gevarm rifles I can find on CGN anywhere are the .22 semi-autos. My understanding is that these were sold by Gevelot under the Gevarm name, likely in the 60s. It certainly has that basic 60s sporter look to it. Very nice shooting rifle. Condition is 9/10 for barrel and action, 8/10 for stock. The usual nicks and scratches. Nice checkering. Any ideas? I don't want to put it on EE at a ridiculous price, but I don't want to give it away either if it turns out to be something quite rare. . .

Without a few good pictures it will be very hard to establish value. It was not commonly brought into North America.

Is the bottom metal aluminum? Does the bolt have front locking lugs? What make and power of scope? Are the rings aluminum? Do you have the rear sight for it?

A bit more info. . . There is no aluminum anywhere on this gun that I can see, it's all steel. The bolt locks up in the rear and cocks on opening. The scope is just an entry level Bushnell 3x-9x, 40. The riser rings are metal Weaver. I didn't get a rear sight, and other than the scope rails, I can see nowhere to mount one. 4 shot metal box magazine. Nice tight action and perfect barrel. This gun has had a lot more wear from storage than from actual use. Any estimates greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for an appraisal here or I would get it appraised. Just a ball-park. All proceeds from this are going to the society for the procurement of a '51 Colt repro cap and ball. . . Lol

Rear locking lugs are against it. The stock is a cheaper grade in wood and design and has a crack. No parts will be had for it in North America...

If the bore and throat are good I would think you could still get $400 or more on a retail market. If you shoot some good groups with it the price may go up... :)
