I`m am thinking of buying a Gevarm E1 Takedown, I`m not familiar with this gun at all, Can anyone give me any info: good points, bad points, price, Good or junk?
Thanks in advance, G

They are good guns. Very little for parts in them. Only problem is: Most parts and the GOOD original magazines are pretty much Obsolete. Fun gun to shoot, just hope it doesn`t wear out on ya. I had one and just sold it last summer.

They tend to go for around $300, give or take $50 depending on the condition, assuming the magazine is there.

They fire from an open bolt, so they can be a bit "twitchy". Getting used to that twitch or shudder when the bolt releases probably made me a better shot. Trigger is a 2-stage, like a military trigger. Very simple mechanism, no firing pin, extractor or ejector. Firing pin is a bar milled across the bolt face. That plus the open bolt means you'll almost never have a misfire, and when you do you can be sure it's a dud. I use mine to fire off all the misfires from my other .22's.

Magazines are hard to find and easy to lose. If you accidentally hit the mag release ( easy to do ) it drops right out. Very nicely balanced and lightweight. It will never make a target rifle, again because of the open bolt.
