Not sure if this should go in the newb section. I tried google, I got some info but still not sure how they work. This is what I think happens, correct me or explain it better if you can: The bolt is open and chamber empty when it is ready to fire? When you pull the trigger the bolt goes forward taking a round from the mag to the chamber. The bolt face hits the rim in two places, it goes bang. There is no extractor so the recoil just pushes the bolt back and the spent cartridge out. I guess to make it safe, you just remove the mag? Does it cycle low velocity like CBs? Apparently it is easy to make full auto, But I guess it doesn't look all scary like an AK so it is all good. (maybe I shouldn't say that too loud)
I wish I could afford one right now:(
thanks

You've got the idea.
I have 2 that fuction the same. Won't cycle cb's, longs sometimes burp the mag, but longs are not commonly found, and LR work good. Stingers jam in both mine, I think cause the case is too long and sticks.
Great guns, but very overpriced. Mags are expensive and hard to find, and hard to load. The takedown models can't reliably be scoped. Only good side is there is rarely any malfunctions, and if there is, it's the ammo or the mag.

"...The bolt is open and chamber empty when it is ready to fire?..." Exactly. Gevarms are unusual having open bolt firing. Usually found on SMG's.
"...cycle low velocity like CBs?..." Not enough energy to cycle the action.

Gevarms have a reversible spring guide. It can be placed either behind the recoil spring or inside the bolt. You can change the mass of the bolt according to the ammunition that you are using; heavier bolt for high speeds, lighter bolt for standard velocity rounds. Doubt that you could get one to cycle with CBs, though.
When cocked, the safety is locking the bolt.
Anyone new to one of these MUST remember that closing the bolt with a loaded magazine is how the rifle fires.
Very simple, very clever, very reliable design. Magazine availability is a real issue.
