Gevelot brass?

Made in Sweden and the cals I have played with, excellent. Most of what I have used was in 303Brit and held up really well to toasty loads.

Built to the stronger military specs but with boxer non crimped primers.

If you are looking for 303Brit (or other cals) brass, I have a bunch of that for sale. Very accurate military and just as durable for 1/2 the price.

Brass is excellent quality--but is usually very thick--if you are useing hot loads worked up in another brand of brass--back your load off and work it up again.

For 30.06,it's a couple of grains heavier than even Federal,so don't go using it in place of Winchester.I got 18 reloads of a mild 300Savage level loading before a neck split.not match quality,but good for "bang".
 
I have used it in 270, 264 Mag and 30-06 and it was excellent stuff! Still some around here. All the 264 stuff has been reformed to 257 Weatherby.

It is French, but they used to have a factory or distribution center in Saskatoon. That was at least thirty years ago. :D

I bought some 7X57 Gevelot from Higginson a few years ago. The stuff I got was badly tarnished and corroded. Another thing is that the flash hole was very small, I started to open these up with my uniforming tool but got disgusted and quit after a hundred or so. Higginson's offered to make good on it if I wasn't satisfied, but I sold the rifle (Brno 600 with the built in peep!) brass and bullets to a friend who was looking for a rifle for his kid. See what happens when you get a bad bunch of brass.

Gevelot Brass

I have a 'life-time' supply of it in .264 Win Mag. Very nice stuff! ;)

I recall back in the 60's, we used to buy Gevelot shotgun shells. They were in every little gas station and hardware. Collector item now. :p :p
 
It seems they were only open for 3 or 4 years in Saskatoon. Quite a bit of fanfair when the opened. Over a million dollars spent on the plant.
