Gewehr 43

Yeah the originals are $250 + and hard to find so I am looking for a repro which is just as hard to find in Canada, I bought the rifle for $800 with no magazine.
Thank for the help.

Yup $800 I was at a ww2 event and this guy came up to me and liked me uniform, he said he had a G43 to match my uniform lol, so I gave him my number and one month later he called asking if I still wanted it. I don't have any pics at the moment but ill post them up when I get a chance.

Make Karabiner 43, k43 ac45 , year is 1945 numbers are all matching. I would not mind getting a repro or an original magazine, but I cant find one, might have to make a run to the states and open a po box.

Sounds like a nice gun.

Post some pics, is it original german numbers or a vopo?

I have a qve45.

Make sure you get new springs and an adjustable gas system if you plan on shooting it.

A mag just sold in the EE the other day.

You dont need a PO box if you find a US seller willing to limit it for you, or import a mag through prophet river and they can limit it for you.

Very nice acquisition!! A 1945 Walther! Cool. Is it a dual or single guide lug on yours? Does it have a G43, or a recycled G41 carrier? Couldn't enlarge those pics on that other site...

I've got a duv44 (Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik) Volkspolizei marked G43. I've got a Durofol handguard on mine, plus I put a nice original early serial # ddx ZF4 and mount on it too.

In regards to repro mags, they may require a little fitting... or a lot.. I got lucky with my repros, they are a tight fit, but they fit! The biggest problem with them is the spring and follower... The springs seem to not be quite correct, and the followers tend to tilt and jam the mag/gun.... Maybe MagPul can make some Anti-Tilt followers for the G43!!?? ;)

I've only tried my repro mags once. It was during a Service Rifle Event, and I had the follower tilt and jam, from then on I just used the original mag and topped it up with stripper clips. The mags seem to function fine while function testing with dummy rounds though. I'm thinking maybe I will modify the follower with my own Bubba Anti tilt ideas...

I know ZefArm (hxxp://zefarm.net/) has a repro G43 mag on his site for $125, but I'm not sure if ZefArm is even still in business or not (The site still functions?)... Barring that, try iRunGuns out of Edmonton, Prophet River, or another importer to see if they can get you a pouch or two of them imported...

Wow, very nice, are you in Ontario or Quebec? I used to be a very active WW2 reenactor in KG Haase/2.Panzer. That's a great deal but don't let anyone talk you into altering it for blank fire! I have had 5 G/K43's now and used a couple for reenacting, PM me if you want any blank fire tips. Even with the shooters kit you can mess the thing up with blanks, I've seen it happen more than once. Desert Fox is right too, the repro mags require work and fitting, get a real one, it's only a little more and the value won't go down.
