I sincerely hope that they're taking already sporterized #4 with shot out barrels as the basis for these builds - of course the economics pretty much dictate that's what they're doing.

Beyond that...

I want a 45-70... I'm just not sure which 45-70... And if this hits the market at the same price as their A3's, that would put it in contention.

45-70s fall in the same category as potato chips, wine gums, and cats. Good luck with keeping it down to only one.

Yah, that's part of my concern... I already have .22itis, Milsurpitis, Mosinitis, SKSitis, Milsurpitis... My Enfielditis is starting to flare up... Getting a 45-70 Enfield would compound the Enfielditis and probably cause a secondary 45-70itis infection.

Sooner or later it could become a fatal infection if my Wife ever figures out just how bad the disease really is...

gibbs was building them on new manufacture receivers not old ones...unless this has changed?

Where are they getting new No.4 receivers?

make them

DND will be pleased to hear someone is going to manufacture new No.4 receivers. Gibbs making receivers, Lothar Walther doing barrels. That is some way along towards replacement rifles for the Canadian Rangers, and no Canadian taxpayers' funds committed to setting up production.

yeah all they have to do is make them in stainless and its a go the no4 is a good action in my mind anyway idk why they would want to change that with the rangers

"Newly manufactured", or "new old stock" Fazakerly manufactured receivers perhaps?

"Gibbs Rifle Company, perhaps most famous for their 1903 Springfield rifles, were showing off today a .45-70 conversion of a Fazakerley No. 4 Lee-Enfield: - See more at: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/01/21/gibbs-rifle-companys-45-70-no-4-lee-enfield/#sthash.AqHwIs9S.dpuf"

from Gibbs website:
snip...Each Summit Carbine starts out as a rugged, reliable No. 4 action, "the fastest bolt action ever made". It is then remanufactured and rebarreled with a precision button rifled barrel to exacting standards. A modern front sight has been added, and the original MIL SPEC peep sights retained. snip...
